Install Dock on the Windows Desktop
If you’re looking for a little Mac-like functionality on your Windows PC, give XWindows Dock a try.
XWindows Dock is an easy to use, minimal dock bar that will give you instant access to your most frequently-used apps. The basic app contains icons for My Computer and the Recycle Bin, but you’ll be able to simply drag and drop anything else you want.
For certain features, however, such as the Gmail checker, you’ll need to download the separate XWindows Dock plug-in manager.
This dock app isn’t the most visually attractive around.
Beyond size and location on your screen, it can’t really be modified without downloading extra modules. One nice feature, however, is Container, which allows you to place any folder on the dock.
When you click, you’ll get an easy-to-view fan of the items that folder contains.
There’s nothing really wrong with XWindows Dock, and some of you might even appreciate the minimalism of the application.
During testing, however, it seemed a little too basic and inflexible, especially when compared to other, fancier docks like Nexus. XWindows Dock does exactly what it says it will though, so if you like its style, go right ahead.
As docks go, XWindows Dock is fairly basic, but entirely functional.

This is a nice-looking dock, and I would disagree that it doesn't have much customisation - skinning and native customisation seem to be on a par with applications such as ObjectDock. XWindows even works properly with OpenOffice, which scores it a point over ObjectDock. Unfortunately, though, the "Show all running apps in dock" option is unreliable, with the dock often including some apps which are running in the systray and don't really need to be visible in dock, and excluding some other running applications: right now, I have XWindows icons for Rainmeter and two for ObjectDock, but no dock icons for XChat, Spotify, 7-zip, Thunderbird, Windows Explorer or KeePass. Unfortunately, this makes XWindows unsuitable for use as a taskbar replacement.
Pros: Good size and position customisation OpenOffice support Looks sleek, skins available
Cons: Peek function is clunky Doesn't properly display running apps

I have windows 7. I installed Xwindows Dock 5.7 but every time i restart it or when starting with windows log on, there is an error message as shown below: 'An error occurred in the application.', 'send bug report', 'save bug report' and 'show bug report' on left pane of error message box And 'continue application', 'restart application' & 'close application' on right pane of error message box. When i click 'continue application', the dock starts but magnify & display of item label on mouse over, isn't functioning. I tried with 5.6 too but no use. Any advice please?

How do I uninstall this program? It doesn't show up in my control panel. Other than the fact that you can uninstall; I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a good OS X dock look-alike.
